The story behind
st. james’ gate

St. James Gate was inspired by the world famous Guinness Brewery, founded by Arthur Guinness in 1759 in Dublin, Ireland.

Designed and developed by owners Kolin Barley and Troy Boudreau, the St. James’ Gate brand has grown from it’s humble beginnings with a restaurant and bar on Church St., to now include a boutique hotel, an event room and a second location in Fredericton.

Starting with less than 10 employees and now employing almost 100 people the company is growing every day and looks forward to continuing to be part of the growing business community.

Our vision is to combine the old world charm of Ireland with the comforts and appeal of the Maritimes; to create unique and memorable spaces for our guests to make lasting memories.
